
CMAT 2019 Exam Analysis–The exam analysis of CMAT 2019 will be provided after the completion of the exam that will be conducted in the month of January 2019. The exam analysis is done on the basis of the expert’s view and candidates’ feedback. However, according to the candidate and the experts, the CMAT exam of the previous year was easy to moderate. The questions that were asked from the language comprehension section were somehow easier as compared to the Quantitative and logical reasoning section which was supposed to be the toughest of all. CMAT 2019 Exam Analysis – Exam pattern
Before moving to the detailed exam analysis section let’s look at the exam pattern of 2018 first. CMAT 2018 conducted was a computer-based online test with time duration of 3 hours. The test paper was divided into four sections. The exam was conducted in two slots that are from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The total marks allotted were 400 and each section consisted of 25 questions whereas 4 marks were given for each correct answer and 1 mark was deducted for wrong answers. CMAT 2018 Exam Analysis for Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation
This section was the toughest as stated by the candidates and the questions covered were from Arithmetic, Algebra, and Geometry whereas Arithmetic was given higher weightage. In the second slot, there was 4 table based questions in Data Interpretation section. Refer the table given below which describes the topics covered and the number of questions asked in the exam.

According to Experts of T.I.M.E, a candidate who has prepared well could easily attend 17- 18 questions from this section whereas the Experts of IMS said that if a candidates attempt 22 – 24 question in just 50 – 55 minutes and earns 90 percentage would prove to be good and they can get a chance to save a seat in top schools.
CMAT 2018 Exam Analysis for General Awareness
According to the candidate’s feedback, the general knowledge section was considered moderate to tough all because the question paper was partitioned between current affairs and static. In the first slot, most of the questions asked were from current affairs, unfortunately, the candidates who were not updated with the daily news found a bit difficult. On the other hand, in the second slot, the questions were basically from the static part which covered History, Banking, geography, politics, International business, Mythology, Sports, and Economy. The total number of question asked was 25.
The experts of T.I.M. E stated that a candidate having the stronghold on General Knowledge could attend 15 questions easily whereas the analysis done by the experts of IMS says that this is the scoring section and the candidates can easily attempt 13- 15 questions with 80 per cent accuracy.
CMAT 2018 Exam Analysis for Logical Reasoning
This section was considered to be easy to moderate. In the first slot, more emphasis was given to caselet based questions whereas in the second slot there were no caselet questions. However, both the slots had analytical puzzles which were tricky. The question in this section was covered with puzzles, cubes, Venn diagrams, family tree, matrix arrangements, coding-decoding, direction sense etc. The below-given table describes the topics covered in the exam and the number of questions.

CMAT 2018 Exam Analysis for Language Comprehension
This section is considered easy to moderate and the questions asked from Reading Comprehension and English usage. The Verbal Ability section covers questions from Antonyms/ Synonyms, Fact inference judgment, Figures of Speech, Meaning of words and their usage in the sentence. Fill in the Blanks, Idioms, and sentence correction. According to the test paper, more weightage was given on Vocabulary section and four comprehension passage out of which the three passages had one or two paragraphs and three questions each. CMAT 2018 Cutoff
The cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks or percentile to get shortlisted by the participating institutes and based on it the candidates are screened for the next round of selection process. Each participating institutes releases their respective cutoff after the announcement of the result. According to the candidate’s feedback, it has been calculated that around 72 to 75 questions with 85 – 90 percentage will be a good score for the candidates to get a call from colleges like KJSOM, GIM etc for GD-PI round.
