CAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria

    CAT 2019 Application Form

    Step 1: Registration

    • Visit the official website of CAT and click on the option to register as a new user
    • Enter the basic details such as name, date of birth, valid mobile number, and email address
    • Post submitting the details, the login credentials will be generated and will be sent to the registered email address and mobile number of the candidates
    • Candidates must use these login credentials to fill the application form

    Step 2: Filling up the Application Form

    • Use the login credentials and login to the account to fill the application form

    • Apart from this, also upload the scanned photograph, signature, and category certificate (for those belonging to the reserved category i.e. SC/ST/PWD/NC-OBC)
    • After entering all the details, click on ‘Save and Continue’ to remit the application fee

    Step 3: Remittance of the Application Fee

    • The final step is to make the payment of the Application Form
    • Moreover, the candidates can pay the application fee in online mode merely
    • For the online payment, use the credit card, debit card or net banking
    • In case the application form is not submitted successfully, an email related to the status of the application will be sent to the candidates

    CAT 2019 Admit Card

    CAT 2019 Cutoff

    The cutoff percentile is set by each participating institute for the candidates to shortlist them for the selection procedure round.     CAT 2019 Selection Procedure

    Post declaration of the result, each participating institute including 21 IIMs and other B-school will release it cutoff percentile i.e. minimum qualifying marks for the candidates to fulfill the requirement. Moreover, those candidates who will meet the cutoff percentile will be shortlisted for the further round of selection procedure that involves Group Discussion (GD), Writing Ability Test (WAT), and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. Now, to know the details about the selection procedure, let’s have a glance at the following:

    • First of all, candidates have to clear the Writing Ability Test wherein the candidates will be given a topic to write an essay. Once the candidates clear the round will be called for the GD round
    • In GD round, 10-12 candidates will be allotted in a group and there they will be given a topic for discussion. In between the GD round, the examiner will test the negotiation and leadership skills of the candidates, also, the knowledge of the candidates matter to pass this round
    • Post completion of the GD round, the selected candidates will be sent to participate in the personal interview round where the candidates have to face the panel of the examiner. In the PI round, candidate’s communication skills and soft skills will be judged

    Lastly, based on the marks acquired by the candidates in CAT 2019, previous academic record, performance in GD, PI and WAT round, a composite score will be calculated and the final merit list will be prepared after which the list of selected candidates will be released who can take admission in that particular institute for postgraduate management program.
