CAT 2018 Result date has been declared by IIM Calcutta. The conducting authority will release CAT 2018 Result on 5th January 2019 at 01:00 PM onwards. The official authority will release the CAT 2018 Result via online mode on iimcat.ac.in. Every year the authority release the result in the second week of January but this year IIM Calcutta is going to release result in the first week of January.
Previously it was heard that CAT 2018 Result has been announced; this resulted in confusing all the candidates. So, here we are announcing that according to the official authority result will announce on 5th January 2019. Candidates were eagerly waiting for the final result announcement date and the wait ends here.
All candidates who have appeared in CAT 2018 can download their result successfully via online mode from the official website. Candidates are required to provide with the credential as registration number and password to log in successfully. IIM Lucknow will send the result of the candidates to their respective registered mobile numbers. There will be a difference in time of the release of the result on the mobile phones and official website.
The official authority had released the CAT 2018 answer key on 7th December 2018. Candidates had measured their expected marks with the help of answer key. But when the result will release, a lot of difference will come out in between the expected marks or calculated marks and actual marks. The official authority uses the process of normalization, which means the marks are adjusted depending on various factors like location, level of difficulty in slots, the number of candidates appeared etc.
The official authority will not announce the exact normalization nor the actual raw score of the candidate. Once, the CAT 2018 Result will release IIMs will start releasing the shortlists on their respective official website for the further process. Candidates successfully clearing the cut-off and other specified criteria by IIMs will be qualified for the next round. The admission process of Non-IIMs and IITs that stands for Indian Institute of Technology will also start.
The selection process of CAT 2018 includes Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI). Candidates are required to qualify each stage of selection successfully and satisfying the standards set by IIMs. According to the report released by the authority, 2.09 lakh candidates appeared in CAT 2018. 2018 is the only year crossing the appearing candidates in CAT 2018 2 lakhs.
In the previous year, 20 candidates including 2 female candidates and 3 non-engineer candidates scored 100% in CAT. This year the number of female candidates appearing in CAT 2018 has been increased by 50% as compared to the last 5 years. This year, IIM Kozhikode plans to provide additional 60 seats for PGP programme exclusively for female candidates.
CAT is an acronym that stands for Common Admission Test is conducted every year at the National level in 144 cities and 374 test centers. The motive of conducting CAT 2018 is providing candidates admission in top 20 IIMs and in other B-schools for the post-graduation examination.
