The registration process for Common Aptitude Test (CAT) has been started from 8th of August 2018 by the conducting body i.e. IIM Calcutta. The aspiring candidates can fill out the application form through online mode only until 19th September 2018. The application form for CAT 2018 has been made available at the official website of IIM for the candidates longing to pursue postgraduate management programs from any of the 20 IIMs or other B-Schools across the country.
Now, the most important thing that the candidates should be familiar about is the eligibility criteria for CAT 2018. The candidates must check whether they fulfill the requirements to fill the application form and further appear in the CAT 2018 entrance test or not as it is mandatory to all of them. Therefore, the candidates must know that as per the eligibility criteria, they must have completed their graduation or waiting for his/her result is also considered eligible. However, the candidate of general category should have minimum marks of 50% and those belonging to the reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/PWD) get the relaxation of 5% and should have acquired 45% of aggregate marks in the graduation. Moreover, there is good news for the elderly candidates as there is no age bar for appearing in the entrance test of CAT 2018.
However, moving next to the procedure for registration, the candidates have to visit the official website of IIM to and enter the required details asked thereby. After completing the registration process, the candidates will receive the login credentials which can be used further and should proceed for filling up the application form. But before that, all the significant documents containing the personal and academic details, work experience certificates, scanned photographs etc. should be kept ready. Above all, every detail needs to be filled appropriately and check once before doing the final submission. Furthermore, if any candidate commits any mistake in filling any detail in the application form, he/she will be given the chance to correct it from 23rd September 2018.
Hereby, if we discuss the application fee of CAT 2018, the applicants of the general category have to pay the amount of Rs 1900/- whereas, the reserved category candidates have to pay Rs 950/- as their application fee through online mode via credit card/ debit card or net banking. Furthermore, the candidates will get an option to select the exam centres as per their preference at the time of filling the application form.
Lastly, the candidates must know the brief info about the CAT 2018 and the conducting body i.e. Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta. CAT is an abbreviation for Common Aptitude Test, a national level management entrance test conducted every year in various cities across the country. But, the conducting body of the CAT does not remain the same every year. The different IIMs convene this management entrance exam on a rotational basis. Therefore, the candidates to appear in CAT 2018 must start registering themselves on a priority basis in order to avoid the last minute rush and prepare well to qualify for the exam in a single attempt.
