CAT 2018 Exam Successfully Conducted : Is there any glitch or wrong question??

CAT Exam 2018 – The entrance test of CAT 2018 has been successfully conducted in two slots i.e. slot 1 and slot 2. The slot 1 examination took place from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and Slot 2 took place from 2:30 to 5:30 pm in around 144 test cities across the country. However, over 2 lakhs candidates appeared in CAT 2018 exam for seeking admission in their choice of college for postgraduate management programs such as MBA, PGDM, PGP etc. Now, the candidates after going through this article will be able to know the detailed information about the glitches or wrong questions asked, procedure for appearing in CAT 2018, exam analysis, expected cutoff etc. in comprehensive form.

Scholarship

Talking to the students who have appeared in the CAT 2018 exam, we analyzed that unlike the previous years there didn’t occur any kind of technical issue in between the examination. Furthermore, neither there were any glitch nor any wrong question asked in any of the three sections. Also, most of the questions were as similar to those which were available or can say asked in the mock tests which were released by the examination conducting body i.e. IIM Calcutta.

Procedure to Appear in CAT 2018 Exam

    The candidates who appeared in CAT 2018 exam had to go through several steps to successfully complete the exam. Now, here, we are going to provide the lucid steps, the candidates had underwent, in order to turn up in either Slot 1 or Slot 2 of the CAT 2018 exam.

    • The Slot 1 exam was started from 9:00 am and continued until 12:00 pm, therefore, all the candidates to participate in Slot 1 had to reach their exam centre before the reporting time mentioned on the admit card. Thus, the reporting time for slot 1 was 7:30 am and the late entry was until 8:45 am.
    • Similarly, coming to Slot 2 which was commenced from 2:30 pm and continued until 5:30 pm. The candidates to turn up in Slot 2 had to reach the exam centre at 1:00 pm. However, the late entry was until 2:15 pm.
    • Furthermore, the candidates were not allowed to wear closed shoes, jewellery, or clothes with pockets; rather, they were instructed to wear open footwear, cardigans or sweater without pockets.
    • For male candidates, it was strictly instructed to turn up with the same look to the photograph they had uploaded while filling the application form.

    • As compared to the previous year, the questions asked in CAT 2018 in quantitative ability section were tougher especially for the candidates with non-engineering background and were time-consuming.
    • Apart from this, questions asked in VARC and DILR section were of easy to moderate level for all the candidates whether they were for engineering or non-engineering background. However, it was little bit difficult for the candidates to opt the correct option in DILR section.
    • Overall, candidates with 16-18 attempts in QA section, 28-30 attempts in VARC section, and with 14-16 attempts in DILR section can acquire high percentile.

    About CAT 2018 Exam

    CAT 2018 has been conducted by IIM Calcutta in Online mode on 25th November 2018 for the candidates willing to get into top B-school across the country. Unlike previous year, the entrance test of CAT 2018 was tougher as the questions asked in quant were difficult and other two sections were moderate, instead of being easy. Therefore, lastly, the candidates are recommended to read the information provided here and wait for the declaration of result which will be releasing soon i.e. in the second week of January 2019.
