BCECE 2017 Exam Pattern

BCECE 2017 Exam Pattern would be conducted in two stages. The first stage would be conducted in April 2017, whereas stage 2 would be conducted in June 2017. Candidates preparing for BCECE 2017 should be well aware of the BCECE exam pattern. The details of BCECE 2017 Exam Pattern are mentioned below.

BCECE 2017 Exam Pattern – Stage wise

All candidates who are eligible would be asked to appear in the first stage, i.e., the qualifying paper of the exam. Further only candidates who would qualify this first stage of the exam would be called to appear in the second stage of the exam. The question papers of both stages would be of 10+2 level and would carry questions in the English language. Each question would have its Hindi version also. Both question paper would contain objective type questions only.

BCECE Stage I – Exam Pattern

The BCECE Exam pattern for stage I exam is as follows:

The entire exam would be of 600marks in total, with a time limit of 2hours and 15minutes. Moreover each section would contain 200marks. In the qualifying exam, only four sections would be there:

  1. Physics
  2. Chemistry
  3. Biology
  4. Maths

Each section carries 50 marks each. Candidates need to mandatory attempt for Physics and Chemistry. If you are selecting engineering, then you have to attempt Maths section too. Whereas candidates of medical would write Biology paper in place of Maths.

BCECE Stage II -Test pattern 2017

The second stage of the BCECE 2017 would be held in the month of May 2017. There are four sections as mentioned above in stage one. Each section carries 400 marks with a time limit of 1.5hours each. All questions would be of multiple choice type. For every correct answer 4marks would be allocated. There would be 100 questions in each subject. Engineering candidates would be writing Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics papers, whereas medical candidates would write Physics, Chemistry and Biology papers.

As per the marking scheme under the BCECE 2017 exam pattern, candidates would be awarded four marks for every correct answer and one mark would be deducted for every wrong answer.

BCECE Exam Pattern 2017: Categories

According to BCECE Exam Pattern, there are three categories mentioned which are as follows:

  1. PCM category:

Candidates who wish to appear in Maths, Physics and Chemistry subjects in the second stage of the exam would fall under this category. These candidates would have to attempt these sections in the first stage of the examination.

  1. PCB Category:
    Candidates appearing in Biology, Physics and Chemistry subjects in the second stage of the exam would fall under this category. These candidates would need to attempt the same subjects in the first stage of the examination.
  2. PCMB Category:

Those who desire to appear in all four subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths in the second stage would fall under this category. PCMB category candidates would have to mandatory appear in the Chemistry and Physics subjects in the first stage of the exam and apart from this, they have to appear in one of the papers, wither Biology or Maths. Among this category, candidates appearing for Maths, Physics and Chemistry would fall in the PCM category in the second stage of the exam while those appearing in Biology, Physics and Chemistry would fall in PCB category in the second stage.
