B.Sc. IT stands for Bachelors of Science in Information Technology, it is a degree awarded to the students who successfully complete their graduation in I. T. field as per guidelines and instruction of Mumbai University (MU). It is a three-year full-time degree course which an individual can do from any MU affiliated college. The course mainly focuses on dealing with databases, software, networking etc. B. Sc. I. T. degree covers databases creation & management, programming, web designing, software testing, computer networking, software development and computer systems. B. Sc. I. T Course is divided into six semesters for the tenure of three years, two semesters per years. For the first two years all the four semesters are conducted by the respective colleges under MU guidance and for the third year the examination is conducted at state level

B.Sc. IT Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant should be HSC passed from recognised board
- Applicant from Maharashtra Board is eligible
- If applicants is from other board eligibility certificate issued by the Eligibility Section, University of Mumbai is must
- Applicant should be from either Commerce/ Science background
Note: If candidate is from commerce he/she must have chosen mathematics as a subject in HSC
- An Applicant must minimum required percentage as demanded by the university / respective colleges
- An applicant must score minimum 45% marks in aggregate (open) and 40% marks in aggregate (for reserved category)
- Students with post H.S.C. – Diploma in Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Technology / Information Technology and allied branches of I. T. will be eligible for direct admission to the Second Year of B.Sc. (IT).
Note: Diploma should be recognised by the Board of Technical Education or any other recognised Government body.
