The All India Bar Examination IX commonly known as the AIBE 9 is scheduled to be conducted on the 13th of December this current year. This examination is conducted for the sole purpose of assessing the capability of an advocate in practicing the legal profession in India. The examination will be conducted via the Bar Council of India.
If the candidate is successful in qualifying in the bar examination they will then be awarded with the ‘Certificate of Practice’ via the Bar Council of India commonly known as the BCI.
This examination is deemed mandatory for all the law students who are graduating from the academic year 2015-2016 onwards. The candidates can apply for appearing for the examination only post they have enrolled themselves as an advocate under the Section 24 of the Advocates Act, 1961.
The subjects are taken from the syllabi as prescribed via the Bar Council of India for the three-year and five-year Ll.B. programmes at law schools in India. Questions from around 19 subject areas will be asked. A total of 100 questions will be asked.

The examination is scheduled to be conducted in nine languages namely: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Oriya and English.
The admit cards will be made available online via the official website. Do note that no admit card copy will be send to the address of candidate via post.
How to apply
The candidates who are deemed eligible as per prescribed criteria are required to send the application forms to ‘”All India Bar Examination” Bar Council of India, 21 Rouse Avenue Institutional Area ITO, Near Bal Bhawan New Delhi – 110002’.
The candidates will be required to submit a suitable proof of such enrolment along with the application form for the All India Bar Examination.
